The Olana Spring Wedding Editorial Inspired By French Art
You’re probably here because you love French architecture, spring wedding floral or even because you accidentally clicked on something in Pinterest. Either way, I’m glad you’re here. The Olana in Dallas, Texas is a 25,000 square foot mansion with incredible detail you’re sure to LOVE. Inspired by Francois Boucher’s “Triumph of Venus”, Glitter & Glue Weddings designed a day brimming with delicate details and velvety touches. Just one look and you’ll feel like you’ve fallen into the art piece itself. Beautiful blooms by Lizzie Bees Flower Shoppe add to the romance and ethereal aesthetic. The elegance is artfully captured in the imagery by Stephanie Michelle Photography.
Our stationery designer, Every Little Letter, beautifully hand sketched all of the illustrations. Each hand-made invitation was recessed with gold foil. The place cards were pressed with gold foil, as well.
Our florist, Lizzie Bees Flower Shoppe imported a lush variety of blooms from California notably koko loco, hellebores, cappuccino, quicksand, butterfly ranunculus, and spray roses. The result was overwhelmingly romantic. The day came together beautifully from beginning to end. All of these elements combined with the stationery illustrations enable any designer to visualize a cohesive design from start to finish.
As for the art piece for which this editorial was inspired by. The Birth and Triumph of Venus fine art pieces represented by François Boucher where he depicted Venus, the goddess encompassing love, beauty, desire, sex, fertility, prosperity and victory. All qualities of which these beautiful women, of color specifically, embody as a whole. These women were sought out with intention for this shoot.
