Bright lights, big city—New York City NEVER disappoints when it comes to picturesque backgrounds. The European-inspired architecture of the city took Rasha & Derrick's engagement session overseas without needing a passport.

It's always an added bonus when I get to capture the true love of my dearest friends. I've known Rasha & Derrick for years and I was honored when they asked me to take their engagement photos in NYC. People I love + the city I love...well that's a win-win in my book!

We went to many of their favorite spots in the city—from the Upper East Side to the Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park, and the Bethesda Fountain. We even stopped at Ralph's Coffee for some vibey and laid-back photos, and a few other spots in the city that are near and dear to their hearts.

Timeless NYC Engagement Photos

Crowds in New York City are inevitable. It's sort of what makes New York, well, New York! But to avoid the crowds and tourists, we set out early in the morning on a weekday for their NYC engagement photos. Only having to maneuver around commuters is easy—they're in a rush to get to work and move quickly to avoid being in the background of any shots.

Rasha & Derrick wanted to ensure their engagement photos were timeless and elegant, even with a few outfit changes. Starting in Central Park, Rasha began the session in a neutral high-neck silk dress with strappy heels, while Derrick donned a modern & classic navy blue suit.

As we ventured to the Brooklyn Bridge, Rasha was beaming with grace & elegance, opting for a classic one-shoulder black cocktail dress. She added a fun pop of personality to the look with stunning emerald green Manolo Blahnik stilettos.

They opted for a collection of black & white photos, adding another timeless layer to their NYC engagement photos that will truly stand the test of time.
